Zurich
The objective is to build a socially, ecologically and economically sustainable residential project as part of the “Koch-Areal” private design plan on the corner of Rauti and Flüelastrasse in Zurich-Altstetten for the Kraftwerk1 building and housing cooperative. In addition to 1- to 6.5-room apartments, the new building also includes cluster apartments, shell/studio apartments, rooms for rent and several hobby and community rooms. Some of the apartments will provide affordable housing in accordance with Art. 49b PBG Kt. ZH. The development is designed to be car-free, which is why no underground parking is planned. The basement floors will provide space for a kindergarten, childcare, service, commercial and event rooms in a high-end shell construction. The project is intended to consider the principles of cost-effective construction to a high degree but aims to be ecological and sustainable. For this reason, the supporting structure is being built using a hybrid timber/concrete construction method.
