Project Details

Zurich Airport

The existing Check-in 3 counter system will be extended by 20 counters and a lavatory facility. The extension will be needed to cope with increasing passenger numbers. In the area of a sports store between parking garage P1 and the elevator facilities, capacity for passenger check-in will be created on level G01. In a further expansion stage, additional counters are possible with an intervention in the parking garage. The challenge lies in the planning and realization during ongoing operations and in the context of several implementation projects at Zurich Airport that affect each other: new baggage sorting system and expansion of landside passenger areas (ELP). Neither passenger flows nor operational processes or commercial activities should be disrupted. The BIM working method was used right from the start.
