The installation of the new operations center in the inner courtyard with the necessary demolition of the existing AEH and the seismic upgrades must be carried out while ensuring 24-hour operation of the existing operations center. It may only be shut down when the new operations center is ready for operation. Subsequently, seismic retrofitting measures in the old building and the renewal of the building services will be carried out during ongoing operations. The tight conditions due to the inner-city location with pedestrian, car and streetcar traffic represent a further challenge that should not be underestimated, taking into account the preservation of historical monuments.
